If you’re a fan of Japanese martial arts, you’re probably already familiar with the idea of a budo (martial arts) shop! In Japan, some shops focus on one specific type of martial art, while others offer gear for many different styles. No matter the kind, they all warmly welcome people who love these traditional sports. Recently, a new budo shop called Mitsuboshi Global has opened in Tokyo. Let’s explore what makes this place so special!
Mitsuboshi Global is an exciting budo shop in Asakusa, Tokyo. It was created by Mitsuboshi Co., Ltd, a Japanese company that has been making high-quality martial arts gear since 1953. The founder wanted to create top-quality gear for people who love budo. Mitsuboshi Global is like a little world where you can explore martial arts, try out cool gear, and even join fun events.
This shop is perfect for people of all ages, from beginners to pros. It sells everything from uniforms and belts to stylish clothes and unique items, including Sanrio character gear mixed with martial arts. Mitsuboshi Global’s goal is to make budo more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. They’re always creating new designs and using innovative materials to help people move better and feel stronger.
At Mitsuboshi Global, you can start your adventure by getting your own gi. A gi is the special outfit people wear in martial arts like karate, judo, and aikido. They have sizes for kids and grown-ups, and you can pick one right off the shelf or ask for a custom one made just for you. The team will make it perfect if you get measured in the shop or send your size. It may take about a month, but they even ship it to other countries.
Already have your gi? No worries! You can still grab lots of cool budo gear like shin guards and sparring gloves. If you want something special, you can look through their brochure. You can order so much more, such as armor and kendo swords.
For anyone who loves swords, Mitsuboshi Global has something really awesome. They sell katanas, which are famous Japanese swords. Some are just for show, but others are real. The prices are very different depending on what you choose.
If you’ve never tried karate, this is the place to start. Mitsuboshi Global has a one-hour karate class that’s perfect for beginners. A friendly teacher who speaks English will show you simple moves like punches. Only eight people can join each class, so you’ll get a lot of help. You even get photos and a cute karate belt to take home as a souvenir.
One of the cutest things in the store is the Hello Kitty martial arts collection. You can find Hello Kitty and her Sanrio friends dressed up like karate champs. Plushies, T-shirts, and keychains combine fun and fighting spirit.
Tokyo Isami is a beloved budo shop in Shinjuku, just a short walk from the Southeast Gate of Shinjuku Station. It’s on the fourth floor of the Sagami Building and has been loved by martial artists worldwide for many years. The shop was created to give fighters and fans the best gear, whether they do MMA, Jiu Jitsu, or traditional martial arts like karate.
Inside the shop, you’ll find all kinds of awesome things like uniforms, gloves, training tools, and even clothes for working out. They used to sell a famous karate uniform with exceptional kanji writing for Kyokushinkaikan, a well-known martial arts organization. Fighters from IKO-1 and Shinkyokushin always stop by when they come to Tokyo for matches.
Shobudo Sangyo is a friendly martial arts shop in Suidobashi, just three minutes from the train station. This store specializes in sword and weapon arts gear and has a long history of helping people find the proper armor, swords, and wooden weapons for training and practice. The shop may look small, but it’s packed with exceptional items such as kendo armor, shinai (bamboo swords), and iaito (practice swords).
Suidobashi Shokai is a fun little martial arts shop on a corner near Shobudo Sangyo in Suidobashi. It feels like stepping into the past with its 1960s-style atmosphere, but it’s full of awesome gear for today’s fighters. The shop offers various items, from judo and karate uniforms to kendo armor and bamboo swords. You can even find unique hand towels with powerful words on them.
Mitsuboshi Global is a great place to visit because of the gear it offers and the spirit it shares. People can explore martial arts through clothing, gear, classes, and even character-themed items. More than just a shop, it’s a space where people from different cultures and ages can feel connected.
This shop also shows how martial arts go beyond being sports; they are part of Japanese culture and history. Mitsuboshi Global stands among other long-loved shops like Tokyo Isami and Shobudo Sangyo, helping to pass down the values of budo to the next generation. Have you ever visited a budo shop anywhere?
