YumeTwins January 2018 - Mythical Resolution

Happy New Year's to all of our YumeTwins family! We hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and that you rang in the New Year with an amazing night!

In Japan, there are quite a few unique cultural aspects to New Years that isn't found anywhere else! For example, there is a round, hollow doll known as a daruma that is meant as a symbol of perseverance and good luck! These can often be found on New Year's to be bought as gifts for others or one's self when you want good fortune for the upcoming year!

On January 1st, many families go to nearby shrines to pray for good fortune for the upcoming year. They usually offer a small amount of money to the shrine, clap their hands three times before the shrine, pray, and then bow. Spirits and Gods are very important in Japan, so praying to them during the New Year's is very important ans well.

We wanted to help you experience a bit of Japanese New Year's culture through popular items and traditions that are meant to give you resolve to complete your New Year's resolutions!
