Japan is a country filled with numerous unique cafes. Previously, we have talked about several character-themed cafes, like Gudetama cafe or the Pokemon Cafe. But, following the “tapioca fever” that is happening in Japan, do you know that Japan has a new unique cafe called 2D Cafe?

Confused? We were too! What is 2D Cafe?

2D Cafe is a cafe where the interior is designed like a 2 dimensional world. Unlike the currently trending colorful and bright cafes, the interior of 2D cafe is pure white, with black lines that resemble drawing lines of a sketch hand drawing. From the furniture to the wall decorations, they are all monochrome like a traditional drawing. Going inside this cafe feels like you've come to another dimension: a 2-dimensional world.

Now is the biggest curiosity ever: What does this cafe have to offer?

Unlike your expectation (and ours, too), this cafe doesn't offer you monochrome or 2-dimensional food and beverages. Most likely, you will be surprised when you see how vivid the color is for their food and drink. Check out this Strawberry Shaved Ice and Brown Sugar Assam Black Tea with Tapioca below.

In general, this cafe serves various shaved ice desserts (kakigori), coffee, milk tea, tapioca, and various types of juice. It’s a perfect menu for you who are tired of the three-dimensional world and looking for another place to belong. Because, what can be more perfect than a bowl of shaved ice dessert and your favorite drink, especially in the middle of summer? If you’re curious, you can take a peek at the menu below.
