Starbucks Japan has all the crazy frappucino flavors you could ever crave. From sweet potato to pistachio, pear, and more! 2019 certainly has not disappointed either. Our favorites this year include the Sakuraful Milk Frappucino and the Classic Tiramisu Frappucino! We thought we had found a great Frappucino flavor with those two beverages, but then came along the Purin A La Mode Pudding Frappucino!!
The drink came out looking very similar to the advertisement, minus our cherry did not sit on top all perky like the image; it sunk into the whipped cream. Otherwise it looks great and tasted even better!
If you have tried Japanese pudding, or purin, you would recognize that classic flavor of the caramel sauce and the custard pudding. All of that creamy custard and sweet caramel flavor is packed into this delicious drink.
One aspect that we weren't expecting was what tasted like strawberry jam and was in fact a mixture of mango, apples and strawberry jelly on top! This was to reflect the nostalgic feel of the purin a la mode traditionally served with various fruit back in the '70s and '80s.
The Starbucks Purin A La Mode Frappuccino starts off with a base layer of caramel purin sauce, then a purin flavored mix, the fruit jellies mixture, whipped cream, and topped with a beautiful red little cherry. The drink will be available from May 15th to June 18th so get it before it goes away!
Cheers to another great Frappucino Starbucks! It certainly did not disappointed.
