Watch out Pikachu you have competition!

The furry brown fox-like pokemon Eevee ranks high when it comes to popular Pokemon. No wonder, since Eevee is just too adorable and charming what is there not too love? Last summer Eevee already had its very own Eevee parade during the annual Pikachu outbreak at which you can see over 1500 Pikachus and Eevees marching around Yokohama. And then of course when the new Nintendo Switch game: Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu & Eevee was released the hype was real! Since then several Pikachu and Eevee goodies have been released such as these adorable tamagotchi's

Within the Pokemon company, Eevee has its own support team called Team Eevee, who have approached the Japan Anniversary Association to mark the 21st of November as National Eevee day!

A proud Eevee with the official Eevee day document!

“Eevee Day has been confirmed by the Japan Anniversary Association! The play on the words Ee (11) vee (21) was originally thought up by fans for this very special day, and is now officially established thanks to everyone’s overwhelming support.” – Team Eevee

Check out Eevee with its Japanese fans! Everyone will be sure to celebrate Eevee day from now on.

There was already an official Pokemon day on February 27th to celebrate the first Pokemon games that came out in Japan on February 27th 1996. This is the very first time however, that a Pokemon gets its own celebration day and it's not Pikachu!

Of course, there's no celebration without some free goodies! And guess what? Sadly only for those living in Japan but pssht! Stay tuned, maybe you can win an amazing Pokemon prize soon!

Let's move on to some artwork that Japanese fans created to celebrate Eevee day! Note that these were created last minute, since Eevee day was announced on the morning of the 21st! Impressive right?
