Japanese candy and other sweets are being sold at the cutest pastel colored shops in Harajuku. From pancakes, crepes and ice creams, there’s too much to try and new trends keep emerging! But what if you’re living the goth life and all the harajuku treats are too kawaii for you? We’ve got(h) you! Ice Cream shop Coisof has the perfect option for something sweet that is darker than you could ever dream of!
While taking a stroll through Harajuku we stumbled upon the Coisof ice cream store advertising the #Gothsof ice cream! My inner goth couldn’t resist this black treat. While loving cute love dark stuff even more! The Gothsof ice cream comes in 2 versions: black sesame and black sesame x triple rich Hokkaido premium milk flavor, we decided to get both!
On their menu Coisof sells not only black ice cream but there are several colorful choices as well. Most of their flavors are based on flavors of ingredients used for traditional Japanese sweets such as black sesame and white sesame and of course their vanilla ice cream is made with the famous high quality premium Hokkaido milk!
The Coisof store is pink and grey and the interior pastel and sweet as candy, not really fitting with the goth ice cream but since the other items on the menu are cute it all makes sense. You can choose between a cone or a cup and when it comes to aesthetics picking the cone was definitely a good choice!
The store has a cute little photo corner for those who’d like to pose with their ice cream!
We got our black ice cream!
We decided to get both the black sesame and the black sesame x triple rich Hokkaido premium milk flavored ice cream. The taste of black sesame is unique: sweet but not too sweet, a very Japanese flavor. It’s definitely something you must try for yourself! The texture of the ice cream was different from the usual vanilla ice cream and started melting right after taking these pictures so we recommend you to eat fast!
We loved the black ice cream, an unique color and an unique flavor! Black sesame is underrated when it comes to ice cream and it makes an excellent combination with vanilla/milk ice cream as well. We will definitely visit Coisof ice cream store again to try some of the other flavors! What do you think, would you like to try this goth ice cream? Let us know in the comments!
