Japanese candy and snacks are often very unique on their own. Here at TokyoTreat, we often hunt down the tastiest and cutest Japanese snacks for our Japanese candy box. However, sometimes we like to take some time to appreciate other aspects of the Japanese cuisine scene, like awesome handmade bento boxes. We also enjoy stopping in occasional character cafes, especially the newest Pokemon cafe, which leads us to one insanely kawaii Japanese cafe – the Pompompurin Cafe!

Pompompurin is a cute golden retriever (mixed with pudding) character from Sanrio that is very popular for how pudgy and lovable he is. He is one of the current trending top kawaii characters, and is actually featured in the upcoming YumeTwins kawaii box, which is why he has a whole cafe devoted to him! Look at all the awesome dishes featured in the menu above! Now, let's take a look at a few of them up close!

These are cute lattes that can be found at this cafe! The two flavors here are both cookie and cream, but the left one is caramel while the right one is matcha! We wonder which Japanese candy from our Japanese snack box could be paired well with these drinks!

Next, we have this scrumptious lookin' fried meat. Oh wait, surprise! It is actually cheesecake! It is a yummy Japanese sweet disguised like a meat dish using crumbled cake to look like bread coating and chocolate sauce to resemble miso sauce! What a fun, interesting dish!

Now, this is actually a meal — we swear it isn't another disguised dessert! This is a bowl of creamy stew that uses rice to recreate Pompompurin plopping his head into the stew and slurping it all up. It is so cute that we wish there was a Japanese candy version we could include in our snack box!

Well, are your interested piqued about this fun cafe? You can check it out in Harajuku during your next trip to Japan! Let us know in the comments below which snack or dish looked most appetizing to you!

Fell in love with Pompompurin and want to get a kawaii box with him in it? Be sure to subscribe to YumeTwins before April 30th! Perhaps you want a Japanese snack box full of Japanese candy and more! If so, be sure to check out TokyoTreat!
