Gudetama McFlurry?! We Hunted Down This Mysterious Japanese Snack!

Want to see an awesome trick? We can read your mind! We know your thinking, "Where can I get a Gudetama McFlurry!?" Well, we are here with an answer for you! Recently, Japan has been releasing some awesome new Japanese soda and Japanese candy flavors, and Gudetama has joined the fray with this awesome new McFlurry. This year is Gudetama's 5th anniversary so our favorite lazy egg has been getting some collaborations and food items. This new McFlurry is the most recent food collaboration to release and the most interesting part is that the flavor is a mystery! Since we love to solve mysteries, we had to seek out this Japanese snack and try it for ourselves!

We searched and searched and finally found the treasure we desired! When we entered a McDonalds and ordered these golden Japanese treats, we were still naive as we had no idea what was in store for us! The cups come in a variety of kawaii designs featuring the cute Sanrio character! Some of them even have Gudetama dressed up as a McDonald's staff member! We weren't prepared for all the cuteness.

When we finally decided to take on the mysterious flavor, we scooped up a bite and revealed in the egg colored ice cream! The McFlurry featured a vanilla ice cream base with two different sauces and sponge cake mixed in. We took a deep breath, mentally prepared ourselves, and took the first bite! It was delicious! The cake and ice cream textures clashed, yet was a refreshing experience, and the cake was pleasantly sweet. We continued to eat more and analyzed every bite. We needed to know what flavor this was! Once we ate every last bite, everyone gave their guesses; some of these varied from egg, custard, and flan to dulce de leche! Even Vanessa, the taste test expert who tries all things crazy in Japan, was stumped. We came to a conclusion that custard was probably the closest flavor though.

As a nice last surprise, if you get a happy meal you receive a super kawaii Gudetama toy! The once we got was Gudetama sitting inside a cracked egg wearing an adorable McDonald's hat! It has a strap on it too so we can take it anywhere and everywhere with us!
