October is coming, and it means the autumn season is approaching as well.
As usual, Japan has no creative limit when making new snacks and beverages. Unique, specially flavored treats are being released multiple times each year. These limited-edition treats are sold season by season. For example, sakura-themed sweets are sold in April during spring and Peach-flavored ones are sold in the summer. Now that the colors of the leaves are changing, it's time for autumn-themed snacks and beverages!
The TokyoTreat team has been in pursuit of this year’s autumn-themed delicacies across the country, and now we will happily tell you about the 5 best autumn-themed treats in Japan this year, just like we shared about the best Japanese snacks of all time before. Curious about it? Here they are!

Starbucks is one of many beverage chains to offer a special menu on various occasions. This fall, Starbucks is releasing three special frappuccinos to celebrate the autumn season.
The first two are the Green Apple Jelly Frappuccino and Baked Pink Apple Frappuccino pair. You can choose between the mix of sweet, tart, and creamy sensations of the Green Apple Jelly Frappuccino or extra sweetness with a touch of cinnamon in the Baked Pink Apple Frappuccino. However, they also have another autumn-themed frappuccino to be sold from September 20th to October 10th: Sweet Potato Gold Frappuccino!
The sweet potato is mixed into the drink to give it an extra-crunchy consistency, and in addition, Japanese sweet potato syrup-inspired sauce is drizzled over the frappuccino. Sounds so fancy and exciting, right?
