When walking around Tokyo you will notice that most women are very fashionable and wear at least a little bit of makeup. Therefore, the Japanese beauty and skin care market is also huge! When you visit a local drugstore you will find new products every time, the amount of lotions, shampoos, moisturizers, sunscreens, lipsticks is just overwhelming! Especially when you have no clue about the brands being sold there you might find yourself either leaving empty-handed or going home with a random product. While the Japanese drug store vocabulary guide is useful we also have some products recommendations for you! 5 products that are popular among Japanese women and we even have tried some of these ourselves!
1. Cure Aqua Gel
Cure Aqua Gel is one of the most sold beauty products! Apparently every 12 second a bottle is sold! It's a water based exfoliator that removes dead skin cells. Apply the gel to dry skin and you immediately see how the skin comes off! Afterwards your skin is soft and clean and I can speak for myself! This is my personal favorite beauty product all times and every time I recommend it to a friend they're immediately hooked on it as well! One bottle can last longer than 6 months.

2. Senka perfect whip
Senka perfect whip is Japan's best selling face wash. Many users of Cosme, a Japanese beauty website/shop/community rate it highly as well. I recently got to try this face wash and I like it a lot! It leaves your skin soft and moisturized and I will definitely repurchase it. Not only is a great product, it has a great price as well!

3. Shiseido Fino Premium Touch Hair Mask
Why do all Japanese women have beautiful shiny hair you might wonder? Well of course thanks to their genes but great hair masks like the Shiseido Fino Premium Touch Hair Mask might contribute to it! This is also one of the products I'm hooked on myself after my hairdresser recommended it. The consistency of this hair mask is thick and you can really feel it working when you apply it. It nourishes and moisturizes damaged hair really well so it's my favorite budget hair mask. It's also available in most drug stores and Donki Hote and is affordable as well!

4. K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Eyeliner
This is one of the most popular pencil-shaped liquid eyeliners in Japan! It's waterproof and promises to be as long lasting as a tattoo so you better not make any mistakes 😉 I haven't tried this eyeliner myself since I prefer an old-fashioned liquid eyeliner but many of my friends like this one as well. 5. Shiseido eyelash curler
Shiseido's eyelash curler is famous not only in Japan but all over the world, many beauty gurus rave over this beauty wonder! It apparently curls without clamping too hard, gets the corners of your lashes well and gets close to your lash line! On most review websites this eyelash curler gets 5 stars from most people. The best thing? Even though Shiseido is more of a high-end makeup brand rather than a drug store brand this eyelash curler is super affordable!
